Nail Love: Mauve

I wanted to do a pink nail for Valentine's, but gravitated towards this particular shade of mauve instead. I never thought about it but mauve can be such a romantic colour. Pink is too, but in a more cutesy, puppy love kind of romance. Mauve is a more calming, serene, staying up until the morning and watching the sunrise together kind of romance. Am I being too sentimental :p

I really love the Electric Lane Glitter Topcoat, they really pack the glitter in and one coat gives life to the colour underneath. I just couldn't help myself but to add some heart stickers and jewels.

I hope you liked this week's Nail Love! I had a lot of fun doing this one, and looking at all these mauvey purpley images are such a nice calming way to end the week. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)

Nail Love: Sparkle

So I've been kind of having my head in the clouds these days, everything's just been floating by, a Luna Lovegood kind of week. It's been harder than usual for me to write up my blog entries, things don't seem to flow as easily so...

I like glitter. Especially on my fingertips.

Nothing too complicated about this week's Nail Love. I concentrated the bigger glitters at the tips and piled on the top coat to get a streamlined, smooth look, as glitter coats tend to dry bumpy.

I'm desperately in need of a weekend. I hope everyone has a wonderful relaxing one. Or a wild exciting one. Whichever makes your merry go round.

Nail Love: Deep Sea Blue

I'm in love with this gorgeous black and blue colour! This is one of the colours I bought from Nail Inc.'s Special Effects collection. It really makes me think of being underwater and looking up to see the rays of sunlight getting reflected off the fishes and eventually getting broken up as it goes into the depths of the ocean.

Heart Rhinestones

You can see here the look after putting on the layers. It starts out as a creamy black (step 1) and once you paint on several coats of the overcoat (step 2), it changes the colour and adds a new dimension to the nail. I love the holographic flakes in the overcoat! I finished the look by adding on a heart rhinestone (step 3) before the colour dries to help it stick and then sealed everything with a top coat. You can see on the edge of my thumb I have on a bit of Sephora by OPI's "Too Good for Him", a purple and blue glitter colour - I was experimenting with the look but then thought that the glitter would take away from the beautiful colour.

I hope you like this week's Nail Love! I'm really liking this rhinestone on the nail look, what do you guys think?

Nail Love: Jeweled Hearts

I am totally in a romantic mood with my Nail Love this week, because I am celebrating my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend :)))))) The time has passed unbelievably fast and it feels like I've known him forever yet have only met him yesterday. It's a strange but wonderful feeling and I feel so lucky and grateful to have met him ♥

This week's look is a more experimental one with a barely-there pale pinky colour and a glittery half moon, which I've done using the reinforcement technique. I placed a heart rhinestone on top of each nail, but on the pinky is a simple rhinestone to balance with the smaller size of that nail.

I have to admit I like the look of this more from far away. The glitter and the rhinestones give an understated luminescent twinkle which I think is very elegant. When I start looking at it up close too much, it starts to look odd. Maybe it's the barely-there colour. Or my short nails (yes, to me, this is considered short). I've had to trim them because I've been sick and hadn't felt like lattes in the morning, which is how I get my daily calcium so my nails have been getting chipped and sad.

Anyway, I hope you guys liked this week's Nail Love! Have a wonderful weekend :)
